Preparing for Hibernation 🐢🍂

It’s hard to believe with all the hot weather we’ve been having, that it’s already time to start thinking about hibernation - but planning early is the key to a safe and successful hibernation.

So join us this month, either online, at one of our open days, or both, to learn more about hibernation and overwintering options. Whether you’re preparing to hibernate your tortoise for the first time or you’re an experienced owner, our events are a great opportunity to make sure you’re prepared for the months ahead.

We hope our range of hibernation events means that everyone can join us, alongside our usual open days where you can bring your tortoise along for a pre-hibernation health check. So if you’re local, further afield, or even outside the UK, we hope to see you!

Rehoming Information Session 🐢🏡

We’re also opening our free, online rehoming information session to everyone, whether you’re a member or not.

If you’re thinking about getting a tortoise, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the rehoming process and what’s involved in giving a tortoise a new home.

If you know someone who is thinking about getting a tortoise, please recommend adoption and point them towards our rehoming talk. It’s a great first step to finding out whether a tortoise is right for them and how they can help give a tortoise a second chance.

We’ll cover everything from the rehoming process and common tortoise-keeping myths to choosing the right tortoise for you and creating a suitable enclosure for Mediterranean and tropical species. We’ll also discuss seasonal care for both hibernating and tropical tortoises.

As with all our online events, there will be chance for discussion and questions at the end as well!
