βDoes my tortoise need worming every year? π’
We recommend screening your tortoise for worm eggs once a year during the summer, then deciding whether treatment is needed based on the results. This helps avoid unnecessary worming, which can be harsh on the gut and may contribute to parasite resistance.
If your tortoise hasn't been wormed for several years or has never been wormed, we may recommend treating without screening first. We'll be happy to advise you based on your tortoise's individual circumstances.
π§ͺ Need a worm screening kit?
We're really sorry if you missed out on worm screening kits at our Open Day. Unfortunately, supplier issues meant we had fewer kits available than expected.
The good news is that you can still order worm screening kits directly from FecLab via their website (link below) and test your tortoise from the comfort of your own home.
π Norfolk Tortoise Club members receive 10% off all FecLab worm screening kits!
π Discount code: You'll find it in your membership welcome pack, or simply send us a message and we'll be happy to send you a reminder.
